I’m Karl, the proud owner of Partridge Construction Limited, based in the beautiful Whangarei. My journey in the building industry began as an apprentice in a small team, where I learned the ropes and developed a passion for creating spaces that people love to call home. After gaining experience on architectural projects as a contractor, I took the leap to start my own company, driven by the joy I feel when I see a client’s face light up at the completion of theirdream home.

At Partridge Construction, we specialize in new homes, renovations, decks, and retaining walls, and we pride ourselves on delivering quality work. We treat every home as if it were our own, ensuring that each project reflects our commitment to excellence. Our unique 287-point control checklist and weekly toolbox meetings with clients help us maintain clear communication and transparency throughout the building process.

Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of completing around 30 projects, and I’ve built strong relationships with clients who have become raving fans of our work. I believe that the key to a successful build is not just in the final product, but in the journey we take together. From the initial enquiry to the site visit, quoting, and final approval, I’m here every step of the way to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

When I’m not on the job site, you can find me fishing, hunting, diving, or enjoying a barbecue with my family. I’m passionate about what I do, and I’m excited to help you turn your vision into reality.So, how can I help you today?

Zac Smith - Foreman

With over 10 years of hands-on building experience, Zac brings a wealth of knowledge, skill, and leadership to our team. His passion for construction shines through in every project, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards.

Outside of work, Zac is a proud family man, spending his free time with his wife and two young daughters. An avid fisherman and keen 4x4 enthusiast, he loves nothing more than getting outdoors and exploring off the beaten track. His dedication to both his craft and his family make him a valued and respected member of our crew.

Craig Widdup - Carpenter

Craig is one of the newest qualified builders on our team, bringing fresh skills, energy, and a strong work ethic to every project. A proud family man with a wife and two young kids, Craig loves spending his time outdoors. Whether it’s fishing, hunting, or just exploring nature, he’s always up for an adventure. You might even recognise him from the local hunting and fishing store, where he’s well-known in the community. Craig’s enthusiasm for building and the outdoors makes him a perfect fit for our team

Francios Odendaal - Apprentice Builder

Currently in his third year as an apprentice, Francios brings a unique perspective to the team with his background in architecture. His eye for detail, combined with a strong work ethic and a passion for learning, sets him apart. Always keen to pick up new skills and never one to shy away from a challenge, Francios is known for his dedication — he’s often the first one on site each morning. His commitment to mastering the trade makes him a valuable part of our crew and one to watch for the future

Logan Donnelly - Apprentice Builder

Logan is the newest apprentice to join our team, bringing a solid foundation of building knowledge passed down through his family. A fast learner with a great attitude, he’s quickly picking up the skills needed to succeed in the trade. When he’s not on site, you’ll likely find Logan on the rugby field, where his teamwork and drive really shine. With his enthusiasm and strong work ethic, Logan is already proving to be a great addition to the crew.
